Type locality: Passim, NW New Guinea

schultzei: Papua New Guinea; Type locality: river west of mouth of Tami River, new Guinea.  
TypesHolotype: MTKD D8222, according to Obst 1976 
CommentStatus unclear; recent authors don't mention this species any more. McDowell 1983 considered this a synonym of Elseya dentata. FRITZ & BAUR (1995) report vital hybrids between Emydura subglobosa and Elseya novaeguineae and between Emydura subglobosa and Chelodina longicollis.

GOODE (1967) also synonymized E. schultzei with Emydura (= Elseya) novaeguineae and Emydura subglobosa and Emydura albertisii with Emydura krefftii.

Reproduction: oviparous.
