TypesType: BMNH 1946.8.22.36 (and possibly additional specimens). 
CommentSubspecies: Naultinus elegans punctatus GRAY 1843 has been elevated to full species status.

Type Species: Naultinus elegans GRAY 1842 is the type species of the genus Naultinus GRAY 1842.

Definition (genus). Pupil straight-edged; subdigital lamellae straight, ex- tend uninterrupted to base of claws; ventral skin opaque; dorsal skin coloration partly to entirely bright green or rarely bright yel- low (except some male N. gemmeus, N. rudis and N. stellatus); mouth lining pigmented, tongue pigmented; precloacal pores con- tinuous with femoral pores on under surface of thighs; SVL < 95 mm [after NIELSEN et al. 2011].
