Type locality: "in India Orientali," later restricted to "Sumatra; Singapore" by Gray (1863:177).

Diagnosis 
CommentShown on page 67 but erroneously labelled as Cyclemys dentata (fide FRITZ 2002, Salamandra 38: 64).

Type species: Emys platynotha GRAY 1834 is the type species of the genus Notochelys GRAY 1863: 177.

Habitat: freshwater (Rivers, swamps)
