DiagnosisDiagnosis: A very large Oedura distinguished from all other species by the following characteristics. Scalation on the toes is unlike any other Oedura, for the subdigital plates depress laterally giving the toes a markedly fringed appearance . The species is larger than other Oedura and has a broad face and long legs. The back pattern and colouration are also distinctive. (King 1985) 
CommentMentioned by Smith & Johnstone (1981) as a "probably new species" of Oedura.

Karyotype: 2n = 38 (King 1987) 
EtymologyFrom the Latin filicis (fern) plus Greek pous (foot), relating to the fringed toes. (G. Shea, pers. comm., 9 Feb 2024)
