Type locality: “auf den höchsten Gebirgen der Fidji-Insel Viti-Levu”

Type species: Ogmodon vitianus PETERS 1864 is the type species of the genus Ogmodon PETERS 1864.

Habitat: fossorial in forest soils of mountain valleys.

Diet: earthworms and soft-bodies insects and their larvae.
