Emended to North Canara district fide Smith, 1943: 222.

Diagnosis 
CommentDistribution: Reported from Bhutan by Wangyal et al. 2021 (who do not show a photo) but most likely not O. venustus, given the locality (F. Tillack, pers. comm. 20 March 2021). 
EtymologyFrom the Latin venustus (beautiful) in allusion to the bold complex colour pattern.
