DiagnosisDiagnosis. Scales in 15 rows, anal divided; nasal undivided; post-oculars two, supralabials seven, the sixth excluded from the labial margin; gastrosteges 161. (Van Denburgh 1909: 50)

EtymologyThe Latin ornata, -us, = decorated" or "ornamented," refers to the ornate coloration.
