Identification: Body robust, subcylindrical; head short, snout blunt and rounded; loreal absent; single preocular; single postocular; supralabials 6; Supralabials III-IV contact orbit; infralabials 6; maxillary teeth 8; eye moderate; pupil rounded; dorsals smooth, lacking apical pits; midbody scale rows 13; ventrals 159-170; subcaudals 30-44, paired; anal entire. Coloration: Dorsum brown with 10 short, narrow white bars, thinly edged with black; forehead with several black-edged white blotches, including an interocular band, an interparietal bar and isolated patches on anterior snout; long oblique stripe on sides of neck; narrow light nuchal chevron; venter white, many ventrals and subcaudals covered partially or completely by quadrangular dark brown or black blotches.
