CommentSubspecies: O. v. notospilus has been elevated to full species.

Abundance: Only known from 2 specimens (Stuebing et al. 2014). 
EtymologyPresumably named after the Latin vertebra (backbone) plus the suffix -alis (belonging to), in reference to spots along the vertebral line.
