Diagnosis 
CommentType species: Lacerta jayakari BOULENGER 1887: 40 is the type species of the (sub-) genus Omanosaura LUTZ, BISCHOFF & MAYER 1986. 
EtymologyNamed after Atmaram S. Jayakar (1844-1911), Indian surgeon, sent to Muscat by the Indian Medical Service.
