Comment | Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). |
Etymology | Named after the Latin noun inane, -is, in the genitive singular meaning ‘‘of the void.’’ It refers to the fact that, prior to the discovery of P. inanis, no Proctoporus species were known from the Mérida Andes of Venezuela, which represented a large hiatus in the distribution of the genus. |
