CommentSVL to 47.5 mm; external ear opening present; 24–25 midbody scale rows; 52–55 longitudinal scale rows between parietals and base of tail; seven supralabials (from DAS & AUSTIN 2007).

Has been confused with Sphenomorphus minutus. 
EtymologyNamed after Greek notos (νῶτος), back, dorsum, and Greek “tainia” = ribbon.
