Comment	Has been considered as a synonym of O. doliatus before it was revalidated by ZAHER & CARAMASCHI 2000. Distribution: see map in Gonzales et al. 2020: 9 (fig. 5).
Etymology	Named after Ellwood C. Erdis (1867-1944), the chief engineer of the National Geographic Society and Yale University Peruvian expedition (1912), during which the snake holotype was collected.
