Type locality: Zoutpansberg Mountains, between Entabeni and Lake Fundusi, northern Transvaal.

Comment 
EtymologyNamed after Dr. Georges Van Son (1898-1967), an entomologist and botanist. He was born in Russia to a Dutch diplomat father and a Russian countess.
