Type locality: “Nion, au pied du mont Nimba, 800 m elevation (Guinée)”  
TypesHolotype: MNHN-RA 1943.48 (= 43-48) 
CommentSynonymy after PERRET 1973. Panaspis tristaoi (MONARD 1940) is an older name and nimbensis should therefore be a junior synonym (TRAPE et al. 2012). 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality on Mount Nimba. Note that the original spelling was “nimbensis” hence this is the correct name. See Perret 1975.
