Diagnosis | Diagnosis: “An Amblycephalus with a black tail and a large amount of black on the dorsum. The loreal is excluded from the eye, and at midbody 7 rows of scales are keeled” (Pope 1928: 4). Comment | Synonymy: Liu and Rao 2021 removed Amblycephalus niger POPE 1928: 4 from the synonymy of P. komaii and synonymized it with P. mengziensis, hence niger takes priority over P. mengziensis which becomes a synonym. NCBI taxonID: 3027167 [mengziensis] |
