Type locality: Mt. Petit Ibity, Zentrales Hochland von Madagaskar.  
Reproductionoviparous (not imputed, fide Zimin et al. 2022) 
TypesHolotype: MTD (= MTKD) D 39058; Paratypes: ZFMK 61505 - 507, 1 adult male, 2 juveniles, collected by J. KRUGER and H. ROSLER, 24 September 1994; MNHN 1989.2903-05, 1 male, 2 females, collected by CH. A. DOMERGUE, May 1964, Mt. Ibity; MTKD D 39059, adult female, same data as holotype. 
Diagnosis 
CommentJackman et al. (2008) found sufficient genetic differences (and paraphyly) to recognize ibityensis as a species different from bastardi.
