Type locality: "in small stream', Loiengalani [=Loyengalani] (2°43'N, 36°43' E), Marsabit district, Kenya."

CommentHabitat: freshwater (Lakes, quiet rivers) 
EtymologyNamed in honor of Donald G. Broadley (1932-2016), famous African herpetologist. See Bates & Branch 2018 for an obituary.
