Diagnosis 
CommentP. nigrilatus is characterized by a more melanistic colouration with a wide lateral black stripe continuous with the dark marks on the lateral ventral surface, absence of nuchal colars and differences in head scutelation.

This species is known from only 3 specimens. 
EtymologyNamed after Latin nigrum, black, dark and Latin latus, side; flank. [“...uma faixa lateral preta, larga... »]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024)
