Diagnosis
CommentMember of the Phelsuma madagascariensis (phenetic) group (GLAW, VENCES & ZIEGLER 1999). Some authors (such as MERTENS 1962) have synonymized grandis with madagascariensis. Raxworthy et al. (2007) consider P. m boehmei as a synonym of P. m. madagascariensis. However, Berghoff (2010) provides evidence for the separation of boehmei.

Max length: 230 mm (boehmei) - 240 mm (madagascariensis).
EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
