Type locality: "oasis of Elbarkat, a few kilometers south of Gat" [= Ghat], SW Libya (near the border to Algeria)

lhotei: S Algeria, Niger; Type locality: “environs du puits d'In Abezou situé à 100 kilometres environ au Sud-Quest du puits d'In Abangarit, celui-ci étant le premier puits de la zone soudanaise, rencontré en allant du Hoggar [Algeria] vers Agadez” [Niger], corrected to In Abezou, Niger, 100 km SW of In Abangarit (= Abéssou) (A.P. Crochet, pers. comm.)

TypesTypes: unknown; not listed to be in MSNM (= MCSN, Milan) or MSNG (Genova) fide Scali 2010 and Capocaccia 1961. Bauer et al. 2017 say that the type in Milan was most likely lost in WWII.
Holotype: MNHN 1936.0086 (La.0372-0), female; but not listed for MNHN by Guibé 1954 [lhotei]

CommentSynonymy: P. lhotei was synonymized with P. zollii by Trape et al. 2012. SCHLEICH, KÄSTLE & KABISCH 1996 only mentioned that the relationship of this species to P. zolii is uncertain.

Distribution: Occurs over a large range but with only spotty localities. See map in Naia et al. 2021: Fig. 1, Bauer et al. 2017: 226 (2 localities in Libya). 
EtymologyNamed after Signor Zolio, the President of the Italian Geographic Society, which supported the expedition to Libya during which the holotype was collected.
