CommentSubspecies: Ameiva pluvianotata atrata GARMAN, 1888 has been elevated to full species status.

EtymologyApparently named after Latin pluvius, pluviosus = rainy, and Latin notatus = mark, possibly a reference to the speckled dorsum in this species although Garman does not comment on the etymology.
