Diagnosis 
CommentHybridization: Phyllodactylus magnatuberculatus is a hybrid between P. t. magnus and P. lanei fide DIXON 1964.

Subspecies: RAMÍREZ-REYES et al. 2021 elevated magnus and saxatilis to full species status, but didn’t include ingeri in their analysis (and hence left it unchanged).

Distribution: not in Jalisco fide CRUZ-SÁENZ et al. 2017. Not in Yucatan state (Mexico) according to GONZÁLEZ-SÁNCHEZ et al. 2017. Not in Puebla fide Woolrich-Piña 2018. Not in Ecuador fide Torres-Carvajal et al. 2019: 299 ff), but reported from Galapagos by SWASH & STILL 2001. See map in RAMÍREZ-REYES et al. 2021: Fig. 1. 
EtymologyThe name tuberculosus is derived from the Latin word tuberculum (small lump) and the Latin suffix -osus (fullness or abundance) and refers to the numerous tubercles on the skin of this species.
