Diagnosis | Diagnosis: A large gecko, average snout-vent length 53.3 mm, differing from all other insular forms in having a combination of a high number of snout scales and a low number of tubercles in a paravertebral row from rear of head to base of tail (Dixon 1966: 445, who examined 34 specimens but gave a detailed description only for the holotype). |

Etymology | DIXON used “partitus” in the text of his description but “partidus” in Figure 2. The name derives from the type locality (Isla Partida) and thus “partidus” seems to be a justified emendation. |
