TypesSyntypes: WAM R951–52 (originally given erroneously as R591-2) 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: A large Pogona with relatively small and narrow head and wide and strongly depressed body. Further distinguishable from P. minor by its 3-5 rows of large spines (rather than one row of small spines) along dorsoventral angle of body [STORR 1982]
 
CommentType species: Amphibolurus barbatus microlepidotus GLAUERT 1952 is the type species of the genus Uxoriousauria WELLS & WELLINGTON 1985. 
EtymologyNamed after Greek mikros (= small) + lepidotos (= scaled), referring to the relatively small scales.
