Comment | Has been considered as synonym of Neusticurus ecpleopus (e.g. by PETERS & DONOSO-BARROS 1970). Abundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. |
Etymology | Named after Latin ocellatus, having ocelli, little eyes or buttonholes (in the sense of round spots). [“...a series of white, black-edged ocelli usually present on the sides...”]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024) |
