DiagnosisDiagnosis: Distinguished from the nominate form of Pristurus gasperetti by its longer tail (over 1.5 times snout-vent distance), which is lower and less compressed in males with a less developed dorsal crest that does not extend forwards to the level of the vent. The ventral crest is scarcely developed and does not consist of a single continuous sequence of enlarged scales. The body shows no sign of lateral compression and the neural spines do not form a ridge along the back in males. In preserved material, the flanks more obviously bear a pattern of longitudinal dark streaks interrupted by pale spots.
