DiagnosisDiagnosis: A species of Pristurus sharing the following features with P. insignis. Slender build, frontal bone with lateral downgrowths meeting and fusing on the mid-line and downward anterior processes extensively contacting the nasal capsules. Palatal section of premaxilla with a W -shaped hind margin, nasal process of the premaxilla short, little or no contact between the palatal sections of the maxillae behind the premaxilla, 25 presacral vertebrae with simple articulations, 3 sternal and 2 or 3 xiphisternal pairs of ribs, caudal vertebrae with long neural spines in males. Nostrils situated between the rostral, a supranasal and two postnasal scales, subtibials enlarged, tail strongly compressed in males with a wavy upper border but no crest of enlarged scales in either sex. Differs from P. insignis in its rather more depressed head and body, blunter snout in animals of similar size, larger ear opening, often more enlarged scales along the edge of the better developed palpebral fold, rather coarser body scales, flatter ventrals with often more obvious sensory pits. Throat is mottled rather than coarsely reticulated, dorsum grey rather than brownish, streaking on flanks usually weak or absent [ARNOLD 1986].
CommentAbundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017).
