TypesHolotype: ANSP [no registry number given], according to Leviton (1968:564). Cited as USNM 7512, but thought to be lost fide Stejneger, 1907: 476 (Macomb, April 1855).
Holotype: USNM 137285 [tinkhami]

CommentVenomous!

Synonymy partly after STEJNEGER 1907. The subspecies tinkhami is not recognized by GUMPRECHT et al. 2004.

Type species: Trimeresurus flavoviridis Hallowell, 1861 is the type species of the genus Protobothrops Hoge and Romano-Hoge, 1983:87.

Distribution: see map in Guo et a. 2016: 383 (Fig. 1).
