Type locality: Yaoluoping Nature Reserve in the Dabie Mountains (30°58'17” N, 116°04’12” E, 1210 m elevation), Anhui, China

TypesHolotype: AHU 2011-EE-Hp01 fide WALLACH et al. 2014 (pictured in paper but no museum information provided) 
Diagnosis 
CommentThis may not be a valid description as no further type information is provided.

Distribution: see map in Guo et a. 2016: 8 (Fig. 1). Note that longitude and latitude have been inverted in the original paper. The coordinates here are correct.

Conservation: one of the 30 most endangered viper species (Maritz et al. 2016). 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality in the Dabie Mountains.
