CommentType species: Coluber canus LINNAEUS 1758 is the type species of the genus Pseudaspis FITZINGER 1843.

Type genus: Pseudaspis FITZINGER 1843 is the type genus of the family Pseudaspididae DOWLING & DUELLMAN 1978 (or the subfamily Pseudaspidinae DOWLING & DUELLMAN 1978). The family includes two genera, Pseudaspis and Pythonodipsas GÜNTHER 1868 fide Kelly et al. 2009 and Vidal et al. 2008.
