Type species: Pseudoboodon gascae PERACCA 1897: 273 is the type species of the genus Pseudoboodon PERACCA 1897.
Bogert (1940) united Pseudoboodon with Ablabophis, Boaedon, Bothrolycus, Bothrophthalmus, Glypholycus, and Lamprophis in his Group I of African colubrids. Ablabophis and Glypholycus are now considered to be synonyms of Lycodonomorphus. All are confined to the continent of Africa, apart from Lamprophis geometricus in the Seychelles. |
