Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: Placed in the genus Cordylus by the CITES nomenclature committee 2002. 
EtymologyNamed after Herbert Lang (1879-1957), a German taxidermist who worked in the Natural History Museum, Universitat Zurich, the American Museum of Natural History, and the Transvaal Museum, South Africa. He traveled widely in Africa.
