CommentThe holotype was found, together with P. cfr. eiselti MSNG 55460, in the stomach of a specimen of Macropisthodon rhodomelas (Boie, 1827) MSNG 54627.

Doria & Petri 2010 did not provide any photos of this species. 
EtymologyThe specific epithet honors Elio Modigliani (1860-1932) who explored Sumatra, Nias, Engano and Mentawai and collected the type series.
