Type locality: “north side of the north peak of Cuernos de Negros, Negros Oriental Province, Negros Island.”  
TypesHolotype: CAS-SUR 21080 (= Stanford University Reptile Register), adult female, collected by W. C. Brown, M. Pinero, and T. Serate, April 22, 1958. 
EtymologyNamed after Latin “montanus”, meaning “pertaining to mountains.
