Fingers with a rudiment of a web; a web is also present between
the inner four toes, absent between the fourth and fifth toe. Back covered with rather large flat juxtaposed scales. Snout and forehead with rather large rough vermiculated tubercles, confluent with the cranial ossification. Male with a subtriangular patch of preanal pores, no femoral pores. Post-anal slits and ossicles present. Post-anal swelling covered with large hexagonal scales. Pupil vertical.” (Brongersma 1934: 176)
CommentType species: Thecadactylus australis GÜNTHER 1877: 414 is the type species of the genus Pseudothecadactylus BRONGERSMA 1936: 136 (a nomen novum pro Torresia BRONGERSMA 1934 non Torresia LAPORTE-CASTELNAU 1876, a genus of fish).
