DiagnosisDiagnosis: Nostril large, extending nearly through the entire height of the nasal; a preocular and two post-oculars which are subequal; temporals 1+2; supralabials 8, fourth and fifth entering eye, sixth pentagonal, seventh largest; anterior chin-shields nearly as long as posterior; scales in 15 rows, median rows with a slight indication of keel at the base, outer three rows on each side smooth, all without apical pits; ventrals 185 to 192; anal divided; subcaudals 70 to 82. CommentSynonymy partly after WALLACH 1988, Amphibia-Reptilia 9: 62 and STEJNEGER 1907. According to STEJNEGER Cyclophiops semicarinatus and Dinodon semicarinatum are not the same. However, some of the synonyms might have been confused. The genus name Eurypholis Hallowell, "1860" [1861] is preoccupied by Eurypholis F. J. Pictet, "1849" (1850), a fossil species of fish.

Habitat: partly arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018).
