Types | Lectotype: MNHN-RA 2007.2456, adult male (formerly MNHN-RA 7212A) (SVL 227.0 mm), collected from Macassar, Sulawesi, Indonesia by Dutch naturalists, and donated to MNHN collections by Leiden Museum before 1845, designated by Vogel et al. 2016. Note that Bryggo in his MNHN skink type catalogue indicated MNHN-RA 1460 as lectotype and MNHN-RA 1460A-C as paralectotypes |

Comment | No forelimbs but styliform, much reduced hindlimbs; no ear openings visible. Type Species: Pygomeles braconnieri is the type species of the genus Pygomeles GRANDIDIER 1867. |
