Diagnosis 
CommentSome species of this genus are venomous although we do not have information about this particular species.

Synonymy to crebripunctatus fide TAYLOR 1922: 291. The name Tropidonotus crebripunctatus is preoccupied by T. crebripunctatus WIEGMANN 1835 = Rhabdophis spilogaster (BOIE). 
EtymologyNamed after Thomas Barbour (1884-1946), Associate Curator of Reptiles and Amphibians (1923), and, later, Director (1927) of the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard.
