DistributionNew Caledonia (Grande Terre)

Type locality: New Caledonia.  
Reproductionovovivparous; Rhacodactylus trachycephalus and R. trachyrhynchus are the only (ovo-) ovovivparous Rhacodactylus species. 
TypesHolotype: lost, originally MB (given as MLI in BAUER et al. 2012) 
Diagnosis 
CommentSubspecies: Rhacodactylus trachyrhynchus trachycephalus BOULENGER 1878 has been elevated to full species status.

Abundance: Uncommon and restricted to a few localities.
