Distribution	Mexico (Veracruz) Type locality: Tequeyutepec, 7 miles west of Jalapa, Veracruz.
Reproduction	oviparous
Types	Holotype: USNM 110365, Collection Date: March 23, 1940.Paratypes: (n=3) USNM 110364, topotype; USNM 29124, without locality; and EHT-HMS (HMS field No. 13211), topotype.
Diagnosis	Diagnosis: Temporal stripe diagonal, extending to corner of mouth, or to upper edge of last supralabial; sides of body dark, including tips of ventrals; a black stripe on fourth scale row, involving edges of adjacent rows erratically; a broken white fine (dotted) on fifth row; a dark stripe on median row, narrow or involving edges of adjacent rows; usually two preoculars (a presubocular) ; ventrals 140 to 150; caudals 63 to 64 (males). Comment
Etymology	Named after Mr. and Mrs. Dyfrig McHatrie Forbes who lived near Vera Cruz, Mexico as planters. Hobart Smith and his wife, Rozella, stayed with the Forbes while on honeymoon.
