Comment 
EtymologyNamed after L.: tempus (temporis > tempor), the temple bone of the skull; /alis/is/e , adjectival suffix: referrring to the marked scalation of the temporal region of the head (Charles Klaver, pers. comm., 11 Jan 2023).
