CommentWILMS et al. 2009 resurrected the genus Saara GRAY 1845 for Uromastyx asmussi, U. hardwickii, and U. loricata.

Type Species: Uromastyx hardwicki GRAY in HARDWICKE & GRAY 1827 is the type species of the genus Saara.
