Comment | Synonymy: Scaphiophis raffreyi has been considered as a synonym of P. albopunctatus, but has been raised to species status by Broadley (1994). |
Etymology | Named after Marie Jacques Achille Raffray (b. 1844), a French traveler, civil servant, and collector. The French Ministry of Public Instruction charged him with making scientific collections during the voyage of the French navy ship Correze. Bocourt misspelled his name. |
