Type locality: Jalapa, Veracruz.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Smith 1939: 333. 
CommentDiet: a large percentage of the diet of this species (10-30%) consists of ants (Lucas et al. 2023). 
Etymologynamed after the type locality.
