DiagnosisDiagnosis: This insular race differs from the typical form in its smaller size (adults 57-64 mm, compared with 68-88 mm in the typical form), lower ventral counts
(84-89 versus 95-108) and darker colouration [from Broadley 1990].

EtymologyApparently named after Benguerua Island where the species was found. The etymology was not explicitly mentioned by Broadley.
