taylori: Colima to SW Chiapas, in lower areas. Guerrero, Jalisco, Oaxaca. Type locality: Santiago, Colima.

Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy, distribution, and subspecies mainly after SMITH & TAYLOR 1950. Not listed for Nicaragua by KÖHLER (2000). Not in Nicaragua fide Sunyer & Martínez-Fonseca 2023 (checklist Nicaragua). 
EtymologyThe name assata is formed from the Latin word assis (a copper coin) and the Latin suffix –ata (provided with, having the nature of, pertaining to). The name refers to the ‘‘fulvous’’ coloration described by Cope (1865a: 180) for the holotype.
