Type locality: Dschachar Mountain, on the upper Chuanche (= Bailong Jiang?), Gansu Prov., China.

Diagnosis 
CommentDistribution: “the Dschachar Mountain is Die Moutain(迭山), which is located on the upper end of Bailong Jiang river(白龙江). “Chuanche”maybe is pronounce on the Khams Tibetan Zhouqu dialects, means འབྲུག་ཆུ་  (Long Jiang龙江). Maybe “Dschachar” is also pronounce on the Khams Tibetan Zhouqu dialects. The locality of Lygosoma potanini is Min Mountains, which is closed to the locality of Scincella przewalskii.” (Bo Cai, pers. comm. 3 March 2018).


Abundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. 
Etymologynamed after General Nikolai Mikhailovitch Przewalski (1839-1888), a Russian Cossack naturalist who explored Central Asia (Beolens et al. 2009).
