Holotype: BMNH 1946.8.16.85 [Leiolopisma tavesae] 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: A small Scincella (x snout-vent length 37.8 mm), with an elongated body and short limbs; forelegs less than 18% of S-V length, hindlegs less than 26% of S-V length. Small number of subdigital lamellae, maximum nine under the fourth finger and 15 under the fourth toe (Ouboter 1986: 48).

CommentSynonymy that of Ouboter (1986). GREER (1974) called tavesae “incertae sedis”. 
EtymologyApparently named after the “rows of small dark dots along the series of scales”.
