Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy partly after COGGER 1983, who lists this species as synonym of Sphenomorphus murrayi.

Not listed by COGGER 2014.

Limb morphology: 5 digits, 5 toes (Singhal et al. 2018, Cogger 2014) 
EtymologyNamed after Henry Tryon (1856-1943), an English scientist. He abandoned medicine in favor of natural science, particularly botany and entomology. He later became an Honorary Assistant at the Queensland Museum and then was officially employed there (1883-1893), becoming Assistant Curator (1885).
